Notify radio equipment on recreational craft (high seas)

Service description

Notify radio equipment on a recreational craft (ocean-going yacht) in order to obtain a ship station licence incl. call sign and MMSI).

This notification authorises the use of radio equipment on a recreational vessel (high seas). It concerns VHF as well as medium and shortwave systems. OFCOM issues the ship station licence for all ships registered in Switzerland.

The term radio equipment includes, but is not limited to, fixed and portable VHF equipment, shortwave and upper mediumwave equipment, Inmarsat equipment, AIS equipment and transponders, NAVTEX receivers, radar, emergency position-indicating radio beacons (EPIRB) and search and rescue transponders (SART).

Preconditions

To use this service, you must be registered on the DETEC eGovernment portal.

Fees

For registration of the frequency use, the fee is
CHF 70.00
For allocation of a call sign, the initial administrative fee is
CHF 110.00
The annual administrative fee, starting the year after allocation, is CHF 50.00
